Charles J. Hanson Esq.
Dear Sir:
We send addressed to you by this mail an etching of the "Little Lagoon[3]". It is owned by a gentleman who has a number of Mr. Whistler's etchings. He has lost the signature and would be gratified if Mr. Whistler would put his name on the face of it, or on a piece of paper added to the bottom of the print. Will you kindly ask Mr. Whistler to sign it?
We telegraphed Mr. Whistler about the prints, drawings &c, which we were to have a month or two ago for exhibition[4]. It is unfor-[p. 2]-fortunate [sic] that we have not got them, but we trust that they will be on the way by the time this reaches you. We write to you, as Mr. Whistler's [sic] may, perhaps, be out of town. Kindly let us hear from you by return mail & oblige,
Yours very truly,
H. Wunderlich & Co.
Kennedy.
