James McNeil [sic] Whistler Esq.
London.
Dear Sir!
About the 9th of August our Mr Kennedy[2] left an order with you for 3 Nocturne palaces[3], 3 The dyer, 2 San Giorgio, 2 Upright Venice and 2 The balcony, which you kindly promised to fill and deliver to Robert Dunthorne[4] in Vigo street.
We have not heard from Mr D. yet in regard to the same and as we need the etchings very much, you would oblige us by sending them without delay. Mr Dunthorne will pay for the etchings on delivery.
Most respectfully
Hermann Wunderlich & Co
