James A. Whistler

My dear Jim -

I received two days ago your letter[2] of the 29th Nov. & in this you will find a draft for £200. - which with the £50. - sent a few weeks since will pay you for the White Girl[3]. I dont much like its going to the Exposition[4], I fear it will be injured, or lost. How about its size? the very extreme length my rooms will afford is 8. feet. if the picture is longer I shall be unable to hang it except in the small[5] blue room, between dining & large salon - Willie[6] will understand - & the light falls upon the left side as you look at it if hung in this small room. I will write Willie in a few days -

from your affet.

G. W. W.

Excuse my writing[7] so little just now - am much occupied.
W.

Julia[8] will try & send the Agourtzie[9] & Caviare.
