1.  Ethel Birnie Philip
Ethel Whibley (1861-1920), née Philip, JW's sister-in-law [more]. This card was originally enclosed with a letter, #06311. The card had evidently been first sent to JW bearing his name. JW added on the words 's Friends' to the end of his name, and posted the card to E. B. Philip.

2.  VARNISHING
'VARNISHING ... MAY.' Printed in red ink. The show was the 3rd Exhibition, Society of Portrait Painters, London, 1893.
