TELEGRAMS, BOUSSOD, LONDON.

21 Decr 1891.

Dear Sir,

We thank you for your answer to our telegram this morning. We think that it is very likely a really fine etching of the "Portrait of My Mother"[2] would sell & we are consulting with our Paris house thereon. We telegraphed because we thought you might prefer an etching to the lithograph[3] [p. 2] with which we are not quite content. It is not important enough in size besides other things.

Before writing to Paris will you kindly let us know whom you could suggest to etch the picture? Bracquemond[4]? Walther[5]? or can you recommend some one? As soon as the picture is hung in the Luxembourg it is free to any one to reproduce it - according to the French law. But kindly also advise us as to the copyright if it is Graves[6] or yours & if any payment would be required to anyone.

[p. 3] We are now writing to Philadelphia about the picture 'La fusée tombante[7]'.

If you have any other small oil pictures we should be glad - & if you can decide definitely about the exhibition[8] in March we shall commence to work

Yours faithfully
pp Boussod Valadon & Co
