Dear Sir
We are very anxious to reproduce in a plate your portrait of Carlyle[3] now in the Glasgow Exhibition. We think that we could have it done in a manner that wd do the original no discredit. As the Exhibition closes in ten days might we ask the favour of an early reply
We have pleasure in sending you a copy of our current issue.
Yours faithfully
The Editor.
