April 25th 1902.

Dear Mrs Addams -

Mr Whistler wishes me to send you this little line of enquiry for he thinks it is long since he last heard from you, and trusts that you are all well.

He was very pleased with the pictures[3] that were sent to the Salon, and of course all the notices have been received.

He remarks that some of them think the pictures [p. 2] badly hung, but attributes it to some people not understanding the subdued light. He would like you to send him a word when you have seen the exhibition, as to what you think about this.

Mr Whistler is very busy, and we are glad to tell you that he seems much better. He is still working at Fitzroy Street[4], as the new studio is not yet ready.

With kindest regards and again hoping you are well
yours very sincerely

Rosalind Birnie-Philip.
