Cher Maitre -
I am awfully sorry to hear that you, yourself say you were ill the other day. By this time, of course you must be all right.
I only fear about the Show[4] that the time for getting the foreign things together is too short.
[p. 2] That [...] people wont [come in?] time, but if they show half the anxiety, of the British to be in it, every thing will be well.
But you must be here to manage the work. To see to the arrangements. The place as you know will make a shining gallery - as fine as any thing in the new Salon - or [even?] the Louvre. The [p. 3] American invitations have gone out, and I hope some of the people at home, may respond.
At the last meeting Crahall[5] [sic] was put on the Committee, his work is all right and every one who knows him, says he is too.
Howard[6] was to have gone to Paris on Wednesday or Thursday [p. 4] but I had a letter from him on Friday, so I dont know if he got off. Ludovici[7], has done a lot of work about arraye arranging business details, he seems a master at that, shipping & insurance, and other mysteries.
Landor[8] is still here and as [h]is "good time" seems to have arrived, I [...] [w]ould very much if he goes away,
I heard of Heinemann[9] disporting and dining himself in Philadelphia - But we all want to see you here
Yours
J Pennell
