Dear Mr Whistler.
I have your favor of 6th instant and note it is time now to have the 'Princess' sent off to Venice. Will you kindly wire or write me on receipt the name and address of the Secretary of the Venice Exhibition so that [p. 2] I may communicate with him regarding the packing and Insurance of the picture. When that is in order the picture can be despatched at once. I have written to Miss Birnie-Phillip regarding the little water colour in the Glasgow
Regarding the portrait I understand that the Lord Provost &
some of his Committee have been laid up with Influenza [p. 3] but are to meet in a few days now. I shall let you know whenever I hear from them.
