Dear Mr. Paulus -
I am going to trespass upon your time and amiability again - Will you write and tell me exactly what has taken place about the proposed purchase of the "Little White Girl[3]," by the Committee[4]? - I sent Mr. Potter's[5] address to Mr. Ulrich[6], as requested, but have had heard no more -
Have the Committee been able to buy the picture? If not, what correspondence passed between them & Mr. Potter? -
What price did he ask? - and if he has sold the picture, what price did he accept? -
[p. 2][7] You & I Atlas[8] know that The The Selling of a horse, or the letting of a house, you & I Atlas know that covers a multitude of sins[9] -
