MUNICH,
April 17th 1888
Mr. J. McNeil [sic] Whistler;
Dear Sir:
Allow me to thank you hea[r]tily for your very kind and welcome letter[2] of the 11th inst. I am extremely sorry to be obliged once more to trouble you, since I had forgotten to ask a rather important question in my last letter; that is: how much wall space (in square meters) will your collection of works occupy? Since we are compelled in a few days to decide definitely on our choice of rooms, and we are anxious to comply with your request regarding the disposition of your works, you will readily understand the importance of exact [p. 2] and early information on this point, in anticipation of which I remain
Your very obedient servant
Robert Koehler
