Dear Mr Brown -

It is all right about the Wünderlichs^[3] - make yourself quite easy about them -

I had a long letter^[4] from the firm direct some time ago - and cabled accross [sic] my reply - settling up them entirely -

By this I ought to have a small sum in return as arranged in their letter - and may find it on my return -

[p. 2] They want me very much to go to America. -

The Mansfield etchings^[5] you shall have when I get back -

I am glad you sent me the cuttings from the Spectator^[6] - for I shall probably slay Arry^[7] again - or rather turn over the body - in next weeks World - if I have time - you can look anyhow -

Also you should look back at the World of December the 26th - and Jan. the 2nd^[8].

I am doing things quite new down here of course -

New eggs^[9] am I laying - and you shall see them if you care when I come back before they go into the Market -

What interesting shows the Society^[10] do get up to be sure! -

A letter from Edward Guthrie Kennedy (1849-1932), dealer with H. Wunderlich and Co., New York [more], written earlier in January, in which apart from sales of etchings, he urged JW to come to the States (#07152). A lecture tour was planned but never came to pass.

6.  Spectator
The review in the Spectator (15 December 1883) was of a series of illustrations for Virgil's Eclogues by Samuel Palmer (1805-1881), painter, draughtsman and etcher [more]. See also World, 26 December 1883.
