Dear Aleco -
Do beg your father[3] to lend me the Battersea Bridge[4], for the International Exhibition[5].
It shall of course be insured, as it was the last time, and every care naturally taken of it.
Do this my dear Aleco, and receive my thanks and blessing - and give my kindest regards to your father and Mother[6].
Always yours
J. McNeill Whistler
Tower House,
Tite Street - Chelsea
I need not say that of course I am late, and and sorely in haste, because of it!!
