Dear Mr. Whistler

I am sorry to know that you have been so seriously unwell and I hope it has all passed

We are quite sure of Shannon[2] and from former experience of him [p. 2] it would be surprising were he to act after the manner of our last Burlington member.

The gallery[3] will be ready by the first week in May if no hitch occurs.

It is to be hoped that [p. 3] the doubtfuls ones the home list may not contribute, at any rate we shall be able to deal with them

Walton[4] has returned and will help us very much[.] Ludovici[5] has evidently done wonders - Your letter to the Committee will be read at our meeting on Thursday

[p. 4] Might we have your permission to borrow from Glasgow, "Carlyle"[6] and "The Fur Jacket"[7].?

Wishing your good health
I have the honour to be
Yours truly

John Lavery
