Dear Mr. Whistler
I am sorry to know that you have been so seriously unwell and I hope it has all passed
We are quite sure of Shannon and from former experience of him [p. 2] it would be surprising were he to act after the manner of our last Burlington member.
The gallery will be ready by the first week in May if no hitch occurs.
It is to be hoped that [p. 3] the doubtfuls on
es the home list may not contribute, at any rate we shall be able to deal with them
Wishing your good health
I have the honour to be
James Jebusa Shannon (1862-1923), genre and portrait painter [more]. His membership of the Royal Academy caused objections from JW; eventually he resigned from the committee of the ISSPG but remained an honorary member.
Exhibition of International Art, International Society of Sculptors, Painters and Gravers, London, 1898 opened at the Prince's Rink Skating Club in Knightsbridge in May.
