PLAN
1, 2 and 3 is the plan of the rink divided into three galleries of equal size with About 60 feet square by two partitions 32 feet high with doorways in the middle 8 by 12 feet high - 4 is a little room with a large archway leading into Gallery 3, and a stairway of five or six steps leading up to passage or vestibule where there are little tables etc. - 6 is the entrance hall.

7 is large archway leading into 3. 8 is partition with section of Screen at the top, the dark lines indicate opaque cloth to prevent the light descending vertically and the thin line, white calico to hide the machinery of the roof of the building marked 9.
The walls are 32 feet hight [sic] and it is proposed to put up a strong frame work over the present walls on which jute will be stretched plain grey jute or sacking is the cheapest colouring by dying or sizing would [p. 3] add to the cost: which the admiral[2] is anxious to keep down.
Dear Mr Whistler.
I hope the foregoing will give you a more or less clear idea of what is proposed for the arrangement of our Gallery and which we beg to submit to you. Nothing can be done for some days yet and if you will kindly consider the scheme we shall follow out, I need hardly say, in as far as possible to us, any thing you may be good enough command.
We are all - what is left of us - very glad that you have been pleased to take command of the ship and thank you. The four mutineers have walked the plank and we sail [p. 4] with lighter hearts.
£450. is all we may expect to defray carriage, packing, insurance and hanging. Howard[3] will have to go to Paris to get pictures, the delay in sending out the invitations will add to the difficulty, Guthrie[4] & Walton[5] will beat up Scotland. Sauter[6], Germany, and London will be left to her own sweet will.
Ludovici[7] will be of great help to us. I explained to him the to his satisfaction, the cause of the omission
