Dear Lady Meux -
I shall be going off to Paris on Thursday most probably - and I should so much have liked to hear what you thought of your pink picture[3] before leaving town - Do go and look at it - Everybody is enchanted with it - I think we ought to engrave it - we must see -
Someone already wants to buy the picture and I hear they have made you an offer of a thousand - but of course you would not, I hope, dream of [p. 2] parting with it - ! - In any case its mere market value at this time is 2000.gns.
Do write me a note directly you have been to see yourself -

Harmony in Pink and Grey: Portrait of Lady Meux (YMSM 229), which, after being restored or reframed by Stephen Richards, was on view at the Goupil Gallery. Shortly afterwards it was shown at JW's one-man exhibition, Nocturnes, Marines and Chevalet Pieces, Boussod, Valadon & Cie, Goupil Gallery, London, 1892. It was never sold by Lady Meux.
