Dear Mr. Sauter -

I forgot to give you the enclosed card so that the people in Munich[4] might be told to send the "Oval[5]" painting direct to Monsieur Rousseau's[6] address in Paris -

I am most anxious that the picture should be delivered in Paris before the [p. 2] [end] of this month - say about the 20th or at latest the 25th. -

And I am so sorry to give you so much, and such continued trouble! -

If you have already sent your orders to Munich I doubt not it will be all right - you can tell me -

And won't you look in if you pass?

With my best compliments to Mrs. Sauter[7], and thanks to yourself - I didn't half thank you for your kindly getting me the varnish! -

Always sincerely

J. McNeill Whistler
