Dear Mr Whistler
The paragraph[2] will do admirably - The only alteration I would suggest being the omission of the words "something like" which rather disparages the show.
I have seen Way Junr.[3] today & gone through the list together
Our opinion is that [p. 2] whilst the following ought as you suggest be omitted - Gable Roof - Miss Howells - Whitesmiths - Back figure draping - Figure thinly draped - Walter Sickert - Gaiety - John Grove - Brothers - Blacksmith[-] Little steps - Study of Horse[4] - it is a pity that the following should not be included - Limehouse, Toilet, Broad bridge[,] Tall Bridge - of which Ways have a few very choice proofs - also Old Battersea Bridge. which is very popular & The Horoscope[5] also much desired -
He also wishes that you could have included the version of the Duet [6]which [p. 3] they have -
I enclose sketch for the Private View Card[7] - together with your proof - The people havent followed your spacing of line 3. or 5. if you wish it they must of course do so. Kindly return both with your wishes - Do not notice Butterfly
Paris lithographs[8] are not yet to hand.

8. Paris
Some of the lithographs were printed by Henri Belfond (fl. 1891-1894), lithographic printer [more] in Paris. They included Stéphane Mallarmé (C.60) and The Draped Figure, Back View (C.77). However, Belfont's bankruptcy in 1894 meant that JW resumed printing the monochrome transfers with Way.
