Dear Mr Whistler
There is no time to set up the paragraph[2] today as printers do not work after midday - We should not have it printed but lithographed and sent to some 250 papers with a lithographed letter. I think that it must be more concise as they will not [p. 2] otherwise probably emasculate it or omit it: that is the papers whose space is valuable.
I will send you sketch of card - The butterfly is to be engraved I presume.
Will you let me have the Memorandum of terms back with your assent or any alterations.
I have obtained from Herbert Marshall[3] permission to move his drawings out of the room he now occupies, & which you will occupy, for the last few days of his Exhibition. So [p. 3] that you ought to open on the 7th instead of the 14th which makes all the difference. You might perhaps drop him a line of thanks for his courtesy - Weedon[4] has also give way [sic] but I don't think you need notice this
I note about frame - but we cannot proceed very far with this until we have list of lithographs to propose to show & have the lithographs themselves
Believe me to be
Failly yrs.
