Dear Mr Whistler
As I wired you the proofs[3] have arrived from Paris & they are being checked & we will send down checked list tomorrow. I am sending for Way Junr[4] to go thro' them & select the proofs for framing which he thinks that you would like - Is this right or [p. 2] shall we do it?
Notice to the press will go out to 250 papers tomorrow
- We have had an Ensign out for the last Exhibition which has brought the people in splendidly - Have you any objection to one - with any lettering or colour you wish - I shd suggest Exhibition of Mr Whistlers Lithographs[5]
- in black on yellow with yellow border - & perhaps your butterfly on - What say you?

The Duet, No. 2 (C.96), Stéphane Mallarmé (C.60), The Draped Figure, Back View (C.77), Red House, Paimpol (C.66) and Yellow House, Lannion (C.67) were printed by Belfont in Paris and not by JW's London printer Thomas Way.
