Dear Sir,

I have been asking Mr Whistler about his portrait of Sarasate[3] which we were discussing recently & he sent me a photograph of it for me to show you.

This photograph is not good however & I have told Mr Whistler it was no use to show the quality of the picture

[p. 2] He replies as in the enclosure this morning & as the letters[4] are interesting I thought I would send them to you to peruse.

Mr Whistler suggests that if you are could possibly go to Antwerp Exhibition[5] & see his works there it would interest you immensely. If you are going to Paris perhaps this would be possible & in any case it is worth thinking about -

I am
Yours very respectfully

D. C. Thomson

Manager

A. A. Pope Esq

P. S. Mr Whistlers letter you many keep if you wish but kindly return the [the Punch?] for Mr Whistler -
