4. Valparaiso to Venice
If Nocturne in Blue and Gold: Valparaiso Bay (YMSM 76) was lent to the 3rd Esposizione Internazionale d'Arte della Città di Venezia,Venice, 1899, it is not in the catalogue. It had recently been shown in the Exhibition of International Art, International Society of Sculptors, Painters and Gravers, London, 1898. Instead, another Valparaiso subject, Crepuscule in Flesh Colour and Green: Valparaiso (YMSM 73), was sent to Venice.
5. Geo. McCulloch
The envelope is written in another hand and may have been used to store the card rather than to deliver it. It is numbered '37A' and '202' in unknown hands.
