J[e] reste un jour a Paris - J'apporte "La Fille Blanche[6]" - ! puis-je dérouler ma toile et l'encadrer dans ton atelier, que nous puissions la voir ensemble avant de l'envoyer au Salon[7]? dis moi ceci par le courier de retour - ca ne te genera pas [p. 2] pour un jour, et ca sera un si grand plaisir pour moi de consulter la desus avec toi - Et tes belles peintures que j'ai a voir, et mille choses a te dire! -

I am staying in Paris for one day - I am bringing "The White Girl" - ! may I unroll my canvas and frame it in your studio, so that we may see it together before sending it to the Salon? tell me this by return of post - it will not disturb you [p. 2] for one day, and it will be such a great pleasure for me to talk about it with you - And your beautiful paintings that I shall see, and a thousand things to tell you!
