Dear Mr Ford -

I had hoped that you might have called in before now - for they said at Lows Exchange that you only sent for your letters once a week - so that by misadventure you may not have yet received the one that is lying there for you -

We are off to Holland for a [p. 2] couple of weeks - where I hope to see about the Exhibition[3] - and perhaps I may manage to perpetrate some little matters in the way of etching[4], or water colour -

I read the paragraph in the N. Y. Herald[5] - capital! -

Did you see the one in the London Sun[6]? - of the same date -

With kindest regards to yourself and Mrs Ford[7], always
