William J. Yule was a figure and genre painter.
He was known for his children's portraits. He exhibited at the Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts, the Royal Scottish Academy and elsewhere. In 1898 his name appeared on the list of potential exhibitors for the International Society of Sculptors, Painters and Gravers exhibition during JW's presidency.
