Life:
Tennyson was a celebrated Victorian poet in the Romantic tradition of Byron, Keats and Wordsworth (he succeeded Wordworth as Poet Laureate in 1850). He is famous for such works as the elegy to his friend Arthur Hallam In Memoriam (1850) and for his Arthurian poetry as in Idylls of the King (1859).
