He was an English calico printer and textile expert.
Life:
He was signed up by Kirk Boot (founder of Lowell, MA) in the late 1820s, to come to Lowell and work on the printing of designs on cotton. His family became close friends with the Whistlers, and his daughter Kate Prince looked after the elderly AMW when she was ill.
