He was AMW's nephew, the son of Maria Matilda and William Gibbs McNeill. He married Sara Lewis, and by 1878 they settled in San Francisco; they had six children.

Life:

In 1855 he worked at the Winans locomotive shop in Baltimore. By 1867 he was working at Glasgow, MO.
