Henry Herbert La Thangue was a painter of landscape and rustic subjects.
He studied at the Royal Academy Schools from about 1874 and later in Paris at the École des Beaux-Arts.
He was an admirer of JW's work and was invited to exhibit with the International Society of Sculptors, Painters and Gravers in 1898 during JW's presidency.
