Johan Conrad Greive, a Dutch painter, draughtsman and printmaker, was the son of a musician. His uncle P. F. Greive was a genre and portrait painter.


Greive painted river, harbour and town scenes in Amsterdam, Gelderland and Zeeland, e.g. Lunchbreak in a Shipbuilding Yard on the Maas (1867; The Hague), and from 1860 also began producing lithographic studies of ships, producing illustrations for both Dutch and overseas magazines. He was chairman for three years of the society Arti et Amicitiae.
