James Staats Forbes was a railway manager and collector. His brother was probably William Forbes, also a railway manager and engineer. They were the sons of William Forbes, General Manager of the Midland Western Railway of Ireland. William married Louise Tronche in 1902.

Life:

William Forbes was educated at King's College, Dulwich and in Germany and France. He became the General Manager of the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway; He was a Lieut.-Colonel, an Engineer and on the Railway Staff Corps.

He was awarded many honours and was made an officer of the Légion d'Honneur, and became Sir William in 1915.
