Identity:
Baron Georges Caroly was a silver collector in Antwerp. The Stedlijk Museum Wuyts van Campen and Baron Caroly, Lier, is named after him.
Life:
He is probably the same person who was in touch with Whistler in 1894, when he was Secretary to the Exposition Universelle d'Anvers. He was also joint Secretary, with the Rubens scholar Max Rooses, to the 1899 Van Dyck exhibition at Amsterdam.
