Isabella Boott was the niece of Kirk Boott, the founder of Lowell, Mass., who had first invited JW's father to Lowell in 1834. Her older sister Mary married Charles Haden, the younger brother of JW's brother-in-law, F. Seymour Haden.
Boott appears dressed in riding habit in Harmony in Green and Rose: The Music Room (YMSM 34), painted by JW in the music room at 62 Sloane Street, the home of Deborah and Annie Haden, who also appear in the painting. The picture was given by JW's mother to her daughter-in-law, Julia, the second wife of JW’s half-brother George.
