Whistler 2003 - Centenary Journal
16th May 2003 - 'Nobody's perfevt' (no. 5)
Before having been edited and annotated, the group of some 10,000 transcriptions of nineteenth-century Whistler letters were bound to have contained a few small errors of transcription in their original first drafts. 'Nobody's perfevt' gathers together some of the finest mis-transcriptions ever found by the Whistler Centre - enjoy!
Whistler's Mother discusses her local Liverpudlian workman:
"I was at 176 dearest Jemie when the Express brought your valise ... Mary was to take it yesterday afternoon to the Scouser & I must try my ingenuity to repair it when I return home on Thursday."
